Stop Leads to Drug Charges Against Forest City Man

–A Winnebago County man was taken into custody on multiple drug-related charges following the report of a suspicious vehicle Sunday evening near Titonka.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies received the report of a suspicious vehicle in the rural Titonka area just after 8:15 PM Sunday. After conducting a search of the area, Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a stop.

Following a brief investigation, Deputies arrested the driver, identified as 42-year-old David Robert Steiner of Forest City. Steiner is facing charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance—3rd Offense, a Class D Felony. He has also been charged with Driving While Suspended and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Steiner was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Online court records show he is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Kossuth County District Court on July 19th.
