–Law Enforcement officers from across NW Iowa ended a search for a missing fugitive in Pocahontas County without making an arrest early Wednesday morning.

The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office says they were contacted by US Marshalls just after 2 PM Tuesday, who had Federal arrest warrants for Nathan Edward Nickless. They believed that Nickless was in Pocahontas County and were asking for assistance in bringing him into custody.

Around 3:30 PM Tuesday, a Deputy spotted Nickless at the Casey’s convenience store in Pocahontas. The suspect did not follow commands to stop, and a pursuit ensued. The suspects vehicle eventually became disabled on 270th Avenue near the intersection with 470th Street, about 2 miles southwest of Rolfe.

At that time, Nickless fled the vehicle and entered a cornfield. Law Enforcement officials established a perimeter, and searched the area with drones, K9 Officers, and officers from multiple Law Enforcement agencies. The search was called off around 1:30 AM Wednesday without finding Nickless.

He was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, baseball cap and shorts. He is considered armed and dangerous, and the public is advised not to approach him and call 911 immediately if you spot him. They are also asking residents in the area to be cautious and lock all doors and vehicles.

Any other information about the suspect can be called in to the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office at 712-335-3308.
