–A handful of events for the 25th annual Algona Founder’s Day celebration are being moved due to the recent flooding at Veteran’s Park. Algona Chamber of Commerce Director Vicki Mallory spoke with KLGA’s Al Lauck on Thursday to discuss those last-minute changes.
Mallory says the “Exercise from the Heart” volleyball tournament is being moved out of town.
The “World Food Festival” that is being brought back after being a hit last year, will also be moved to the downtown area.
A handful of scheduled events will not be taking place this weekend. The tour of the Wildhaven campus Saturday morning is being canceled due to wet conditions. The river canoeing event will not be held due to high water levels, and the Kossuth County Tail’s of Hope Rescue group will no longer be hosting Bingo due to other event changes.
