–The Lakota based Hunting with Heroes organization has once again lined up a “Salute to Veterans” night at 3 different racetracks across Iowa, with those set to take place next week. Hunting with Heroes Co-Founder Bernie Becker tells KLGA News they will have 10 different cars sporting special, patriotic themed wraps at each track, to go along with a free meal for local veterans.
Becker says it took some doing, but he found a freshly made bologna that will be served along with sweet corn.
Veterans will receive free admission at each track and a goodie bag full of various items. Becker says they will also make sure each Veteran receives recognition for their service.
The “Salute to Veterans” events will be held Wednesday, July 24th in Spencer, Thursday, July 25th in Algona and Saturday, July 27th in Boone. The annual pheasant hunting event for wounded veterans is scheduled to begin November 7th, and the drive through event to provide area Veterans with everything they need for a Thanksgiving meal is scheduled for November 11th in Lakota.
