–An Algona couple are the latest recipients of the ”1440 Citizen of the Month” from the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office.
Kossuth County Sheriff Roger Fisher announced this week that Ray and Marilyn Nielsen are the “1440” recipients for the month of July, as they were nominated for their years of service to their church and community.
Ray has been active with the Kiwanis Club, the American Legion and Boy Scouts, along with being a former long-time member of the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Reserves. Marilyn is a member of the First Lutheran Quilters and leads a Share a Prayer program. Both Ray and Marilyn have volunteered as hospital greeters, helped with the Community Thanksgiving dinners, while also collecting and redeeming cans for the Senior Center.
