–A Northwest Iowa woman suffered minor injuries following a one-vehicle accident just west of Algona Friday morning.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department, 23-year-old Devan Faye Demory of Hartley was driving westbound on County Road B40 in a 2018 Ford Explorer just before 10:30 AM Friday. As Demory was approaching the intersection with 80th Avenue, her vehicle took a hard left and went down into the south ditch.

Demory continued to travel in a diagonal line through a corn field until the vehicle hit and embankment, went airborne, and landed in the field where it came to rest. The accident report states that Demory was unconscious when emergency personnel reached her vehicle, very disoriented, and had no memory of what had happened. For that reason, Deputies suspect she suffered some sort of medical emergency on the road.

Demory was taken by ambulance to Kossuth Regional Health Center with what were described as minor injuries.

Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
