The Emmet County town of Ringsted is celebrating its Quasquicentennial this weekend, with festivities running through Sunday. Diane Nelson is co-chair of the event planning committee, and she says things will get rolling Friday evening.
One of this weekend’s events actually started back in February as many area residents have been growing out their facial hair to see who has the best handlebar mustache, longest beard, and best stubble among other categories. On Saturday morning, there will be a Quilts of Valor presentation, and on Sunday morning, there will be a community church service.
There will also be a parade in Ringsted and an all-school reunion.
