–The Algona Community School District will start the new year with a couple of staff openings. Superintendent Joe Carter discussed the situation with the school board during their meeting Monday night.
Carter says students will still get the instruction they need despite the vacancy.
The district is also in need of at least one bus driver with classes set to begin on August 23rd.
Following the merger with Lu Verne, the district currently encompasses an area of over 500 square miles that drivers cover each day.
