–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to begin recording budget workshop meetings with county department leaders going forward. Supervisor Carter Nath placed the item on the agenda and discussed why he felt it was important to bring it up once again.
Board Chairman Kyle Stecker supports the idea of recording those meetings for the sake of transparency.
Auditor Tammy Eden spoke out against the idea, saying a lot of things discussed during the workshops are best talked about in private.
The board voted 3-2 to record the budget workshops going forward, with Supervisors Jack Plathe and Roger Tjarks voting against the idea.
