–The Iowa Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program Board recently approved an additional 95 applications from gas stations across the state to support new and expanded ethanol infrastructure projects.

Iowa Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig announced this past week that these investments will help drivers save money by providing expanded access to lower cost and cleaner burning biofuels like E15.

The approved project sites are in 38 counties, including Kossuth, and total over $900,000 in the state cost-share program. The investment will help more Iowa gas stations come into compliance with Iowa’s E15 standard, which mandates that most fuel retailers in Iowa offer E15 in at least one of their pumps by January 1st of 2026.

This latest round of funding, which was approved by the Iowa Renewable Fuels Board at their meeting on April 15th, includes the Casey’s General Store on North Main Street in Algona. That location will receive just over $5,000 to upgrade their equipment.

Also receiving funding this time around in the area are the Casey’s General Stores in Clarion and Eagle Grove.

Since the program was started in 2006, the Iowa Department of Agriculture has invested over $61 Million toward expanding renewable fuels infrastructure across the state.
