–The annual “Salute to Veterans” races will be held at 3 tracks across Iowa next week, including here in Algona at the Kossuth County Speedway on July 24th. Bernie Becker with the Hunting with Heroes organization tells KLGA News they have even more cars this year that will honor those who have served.
Prior to the races each night at the tracks in Algona, Spencer, and Boone, Becker says both Veterans and fans alike will have a chance to see the cars prior to the races.
Along with a free gate admission and a free meal for themselves and a spouse, any veteran in attendance will receive a gift bag with plenty of goodies.
Becker says they will have a group of veterans that have been on their fall hunting trip back in Iowa to help each night.
