–The Algona School Board approved a transfer of funds from the district’s Home School Assistance account during their meeting on Monday. Superintendent Joe Carter says a recent change in state law allows the district to move the money around instead of having it sit in the account unused.
Carter says the district will have more than enough left in the Home School fund to cover any expenses they may incur while administering the program.
The money will be used to pay salary increases for some of the district’s teacher associates.
The board held a public hearing before approving the transfer.
