–The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship recently announced the approval of 108 projects in the Iowa Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program across 46 counties.
The approved projects represent nearly $4.6 million in total requests, with almost $4 million of that total going to improve access to E15.
A pair of Humboldt County businesses are included in this latest round of funding. Kimmes Enterprises is receiving just over $7,000 to install E15 pumps are their Cenex location along HWY 169 South in Humboldt, while Pro Coop in Gilmore City is receiving over $100,000 so they can upgrade their equipment to offer both E15 and Biodiesel to retail customers.
Along with the Humboldt County businesses, Aeris Grove LLC is receiving a $75,000 grant to establish an E15 retail location in Forest City.
The investments are helping more Iowa fuel stations come into compliance with the E15 access standard, which requires most fuel retailers to offer E15 by January 1, 2026. Find out more about the program at www.iowaagriculture.gov/IRFIP.
