–One of the Algona residents facing fraud charges in the Clear Lake area has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors.

34-year-old Dansibel Delgado Horta and 31-year-old Noarys Abreu Perera were each charged with ongoing criminal conduct and multiple counts of unauthorized use of a credit card back in October as part of an investigation dating back to May of 2025.

Police in Clear Lake filed a criminal complaint in August alleging the pair used forged or stolen credit card information to make purchases in Cerro Gordo County between May 18-30 of 2025.

Court records indicate that Delgado Horta was scheduled to stand trial this month but has now pleaded guilty to two counts of unauthorized use of a credit card and forgery. In exchange, prosecutors will recommend he receive a 5-year suspended sentence, 3-years of probation, and pay restitution when he is sentenced in March.

Abreu Perera is scheduled to stand trial in Cerro Gordo County District Court on April 21st.

Delgado Horta is still facing two counts of unauthorized use of a credit card in Kossuth County and is scheduled to stand trial on those charges in March.
