Nominations Sought for “Class of ’79” Award

–Officials with the Algona Community School Foundation are reminding area residents that there is still time to submit a nomination for the “Class of 1979” Teacher of the Year Award.

The award has been handed out annually since 2002 to a teacher in the Algona Community School District that goes the extra mile to nurture and educate their students.

Nominations can be submitted online by clicking on the Class of ’79 Teacher Award Link at www.algona.k12.ia.us/page/community. A paper copy of the nomination form can also be found at that link, which can be printed out and mailed to:

Nominations need to be received by April 10th. The final selection will be made by the class fund committee with the award being handed out prior to the end of the school year. The winner receives an engraved bell and a $400 prize.
