–Officials at West Bend-Mallard are raising funds to build a tribute to longtime coach and athletic director Koy Goodchild at the field that bears his name. WBM Activities Director and Head Football Coach Tyson Wirtz tells KLGA News that they have been looking for a way to honor Goodchild since he passed away in October of 2024.
When deciding on how to properly honor the legendary coach, Wirtz says they came up with the idea of placing a marker where teams enter the field in West Bend.
Wirtz says the faster they can get funds raised, the quicker the memorial can be constructed.
Goodchild had a career coaching record of 229-38 over 24 seasons at West Bend-Mallard, which included four state championships. For more information, you can contact West Bend-Mallard schools by calling 515-887-7821.
