–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors postponed any decision on a possible land purchase during their meeting Tuesday morning. Kossuth County Conservation Director Kendall Stumme spoke to the board during the meeting, and discussed the opportunity to obtain the land along the East Fork of the Des Moines River near Algona.
Stumme says the conservation board does have a conditional purchase offer in place for the land.
The area is accessible to the public along Highway 169, and Stumme says the conservation board feels it would be a great addition to their land holdings.
The board decided to table any action on the purchase until more information can be gathered about the impact it would have on neighboring properties. They will discuss the issue again on November 12th, as they will not meet next week due to the general election.
