–The Kossuth County Farmer’s Market is set to open for the season this weekend in downtown Algona. Market organizer Joanne Roepke Bode tells KLGA News they have been building up the number of vendors at the market over the last few years, each offering unique products.

The farmer’s market is a way for area residents to pick up fresh produce and support local businesses at the same time.

While fresh produce is a staple of the farmer’s market, Roepke Bode says there is more than just food available each week.

Shoppers will also be able to enjoy some live entertainment at some of the Saturday markets thanks to a partnership with the Haggard Twogood Charitable Trust.

Roepke Bode says the Wednesday afternoon farmer’s market will start on July 1st.

The Farmer’s Market is held rain or shine each Saturday between May 30th and October 10th from 9-11 AM. For more information you can check out the Kossuth County Farmer’s Market on Facebook or go to www.discoveralgona.com.
