Lahn Says Attack Ads Show Concern from GOP Rival

Zach Lahn says there’s a signal the GOP race for governor is tightening as a rival campaign is now running an ad criticizing one of his investments.

A spokesman for Randy Feenstra’s campaign says Lahn put one million dollars in a business that was selling pornographic products. Lahn says he invested in a medical device a friend was developing and resigned as a company director when the company began selling sex toys, however his campaign says the business contract prevents him from pulling his 25 percent stake in the company.

Lahn spoke with reporters after a campaign stop in Newton Thursday where he talked about dozens of his proposals, like addressing Iowa’s high cancer rate and going to court to break up monopolies.

Lahn says if he’s elected governor he’ll work to break up monopolies and seek a ban on dynamic pricing systems where companies charge rates or prices based on a customer’s buying habits.

Iowans may still vote early at their county auditor’s office through the close of business on Monday, then precincts around the state will open for Primary Day voting on Tuesday at 7 a.m.
