–A Minnesota man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in the rural Fenton area Wednesday night.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies conducted a stop of a 2003 Toyota Carolla driven by 32-year-old Luis Rodriguez Burgos of Fairmont, Minnesota along Iowa Highway 15 near Fenton just before 7 PM Wednesday.
A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court states that Rodrigues Burgos consented to a search of his vehicle, during which Deputies found a vape located between the driver seat and the center dash. The complaint states the vape tested positive for THC, and that a small pill bottle was found in the car with a green, leafy substance in it that smelled like Marijuana.
Rodriguez Burgos was arrested on charges of Possession of Marijuana-1st offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, both simple misdemeanors. He was also cited for Speeding, Driving Under Suspension, and Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance.
He was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance.
