Weekend Traffic Stop Leads to Charges Against Minnesota Man

–A traffic stop over the weekend near Bancroft resulted in multiple drug-related charges being filed against a Minnesota man.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the rural Bancroft area Sunday just after 6:30 PM. After conducting a brief investigation, Deputies arrested the driver, identified as 57-year-old David Allan Filzen of St. Peter, Minnesota.

Filzen has been charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)-1st offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Filzen was also cited for driving without a valid license.

Online court records show Filzen was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Court records indicate that he is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Kossuth County District Court on Friday, April 5th.

Court records also show Filzen was arrested again on Monday night, just after 10:30 PM, on a charge of Public Intoxication.
