–A Mason City man suffered only minor injuries following a one-vehicle accident in northern Kossuth County earlier this month.
According to a report just released by the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Joseph Jaskiel was traveling eastbound along Iowa Highway 9 in a 2019 Chevy Traverse around 6:30 PM on Saturday, March 9th. The accident report states that Jaskiel’s vehicle left the roadway to the left and entered the north ditch, where it struck a culvert pipe and came to a stop.
Jaskiel told Deputies that he swerved to avoid hitting a deer in the roadway, as the accident report states that no skid marks were found on the pavement.
Jaskiel reported minor injuries but was not transported from the scene. Damage to his vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
