–Today is the last day of school for students in Algona, and area residents are invited to take the night off from cooking and enjoy a block party in the downtown area. Pastor Russ Jacobson with the Algona United Methodist Church tells KLGA News they will host the party along Nebraska Street in downtown Algona, outside of the church.
Jacobson says it is a great way for the church to reach out beyond their walls.
He says they are hoping for a great turnout.
The block party will run from 5-7 PM Tuesday on Nebraska Street in downtown Algona, just outside the church. Jacobson says they are also planning events for July 14th and September 4th.
