St. Edmond 1
The Bishop Garrigan baseball team captured a district title and advances to the substate final for the 2nd time in 3 years, outlasting St. Edmond 2-1 on Saturday night in the class 1A – district 6 championship game.
The Golden Bears took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning, as Benjy Trainer’s ground ball with the bases loaded was mishandled by Gael third baseman Ethan Swisher for an error. St. Edmond responded quickly, tying the game at 1 in the top of the 4th, as JT Laufersweiler came up in the clutch with a two out bases loaded single. In the bottom of the 5th, Bishop Garrigan put runners at 2nd and 3rd.
