Union Slough to Open Tour Route For Refuge Week

–The Union Slough will open its auto tour route this weekend in honor of National Wildlife Refuge week. Refuge Manager Ed Meendering tells KLGA News activity is starting to pick up and plenty of wildlife can be seen throughout the refuge.

The tour route will open on Friday, October 11 and remain open through Sunday, October 20th.

Meendering says the tour route will be open sunrise to sunset during that time.

The Union Slough National Wildlife Refuge is located six miles east of Bancroft along County Road A42. The tour route begins at the Refuge Headquarters and winds through 4.5 miles of natural prairie habitat.
