Wesley Man Facing Multiple Drug Charges

–A Wesley man is facing multiple drug charges following an alleged incident Thursday evening.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, a Deputy patrolling in Wesley observed a man slumped over the wheel of a parked vehicle near the intersection of East Street and Old Highway 18 just after 7 PM Thursday. The Deputy performed a welfare check on the occupant and determined he did not need medical attention.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the Deputy observed illegal narcotics and paraphernalia in plain sight. This observation led to the arrest of the occupant, identified as 64-year-old Dean Youngwirth of Wesley.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for Youngwirth’s residence on East Street, and following the search charged him with:

–Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Class B Felony)

–Possession of Marijuana-3rd offense (Aggravated misdemeanor)

–Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp (Class D Felony)

–Possession of a Controlled Substance-1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor)

–Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor)

Youngwirth was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance.
