–An Algona man is facing multiple charges following an alleged incident in Whittemore Monday evening.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 41-year-old Nathan Lee Thompson Tuesday morning on charges of Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Air/Blood Flow and Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury, both Class D Felonies.
A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court states that Thompson was involved in an altercation with the mother of his child at her residence in Whittemore Monday night. The complaint alleges that during an argument, Thompson held the victim down by her throat and struck her in the face with a closed fist, causing her eye to swell shut.
After a neighbor intervened, Thompson left the scene and was arrested the following morning at his parent’s house in Algona. He was booked into the Kossuth County Jail and is scheduled to have a preliminary court hearing on June 29th.
A no contact has also been issued to prevent Thompson from having any contact with the alleged victim in this case.
