Pharmacists Mutual Names Next President and CEO

–Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company has named a Des Moines area Executive as their new President and CEO.

The company announced this week that Aaron Pearce will succeed Edward Yorty in those roles later this year. Prior to Pearce’s arrival, current Senior Vice President of Underwriting Alison VanOtterloo will serve as the Interim President and CEO.

Pearce currently serves as Vice President and General Counsel for a number of Berkley Insurance Company Properties. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from Central College in Pella, a Juris Doctorate (JD) from the Ave Maria School of Law in Vineyards, Florida and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business.

Kirk Hayes serves as the Chairman of the Pharmacists Mutual Board of Directors and the was also the Search Committee Chair. He says “Aaron has a track record of strong leadership both inside and outside of the property and casualty insurance industry. This, combined with his deep industry knowledge and institutional tenure, makes Aaron uniquely qualified to lead Pharmacists Mutual successfully into the future.”

Along with his professional work, Pearce currently serves as the chair of the Des Moines, Iowa based annual Global Insurance Symposium, as President of the Iowa Insurance Institute and on the board of the Iowa Insurance Guarantee Association.
