–The Kossuth County Growing Healthy Kids program has earned the Iowa Family Support Credential after demonstrating substantial adherence to statewide standards. Brianne Wilson is a Registered Nurse who works in the program through the Community Health Department at Kossuth Regional Health Center, and she tells KLGA News the credentialing process took over 2 years to complete.

After working with those technical advisors, Wilson says they went through another review process, this time with colleagues from across the state.

Growing Healthy Kids is a home visitation program for those expecting a child and new parents in Kossuth County that helps to promote positive parent-child interaction, child health and development, and also assists parents as they learn about their new baby. Being credentialed through the Iowa Family Support program is vital to the future of the program.

Wilson says it is nice to have the credentialing process behind them so they can focus on their main mission.
