–A pair of road projects are set to begin this week in Northern Kossuth County that will close roads and require detours for a couple of months.
The Kossuth County Engineers office says work on a nearly 10-mile stretch of County Road R14 (240th Avenue) will begin on Tuesday, between Iowa Highway 9 and County Road A42. The project will be conducted in three phases, with cold in place recycling starting this week. Patching and widening work is scheduled to begin in the middle of August, before the resurfacing work can begin.
Work on a stretch of County Road A42 will also begin Tuesday, with the road closure east of Bancroft. The resurfacing project will close an approximately 9-mile stretch of the road.
All routes involved will be closed to through traffic, and a signed detour will be posted for all closed roads.
