Tuesday’s Wrestlng Recap
–The Algona Girls Wrestling team crowned 5 champions on the night, as the Bulldogs brought home the team title from the Riverhawk Girls Invitational in Mason City. The Bulldogs wracked up 244 points on the night to take top honors, with the hosts from Mason City coming in 2nd with 212 in the 10-team field.
Mara Davis (100), Malyn Davis (120), Abbe Gorham (130), Reagan Haynes (170), and Gretchen Gorham (190) all claimed individual titles for the Bulldogs. Malyn Davis had to defeat fellow Bulldog Savannah Steven in the finals at 120, as Harley Tobin (105), Alyssa Olson (125), Sienna Fehr (135) and Carlee Allen (235) also grabbed silver medals for the Bulldogs.
Other place winners for the Bulldogs were Reese Taylor (3rd @ 110), Makayla Erpelding (6th @ 110), Laura Stohr (4th @ 115), Alissa Engel (7th @ 115), Lillian Allie (7th @ 125), and Regan Nicholson (4th @ 140).
The Bulldog Girls will be back in action next Thursday when they head to the Xtream Arena in Coralville to take part in the Dan Gable Donnybrook.
