–The Algona Community School District will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program this year, as school aged children will have the chance to receive a free breakfast and lunch during the month of June. Superintendent Joe Carter tells KLGA News that the district applied to be part of the program again this year and meets the necessary qualification requirements.
Carter says kids do not need to register to receive the free meals.
The meals will be handed out Monday through Thursday, beginning on Monday, June 3rd. Carter says the program will also provide meals that the children can have over the weekends.
If you have any questions about the program, you can contact the Central Administration Office by calling 515-295-3528.
