Girls Golf
Day one of state golf is in the books. In yesterday’s class 1A session at Marshalltown’s American Legion course, Bishop Garrigan’s Avery Lichter currently sits in sixth place. Lichter shot an 85 over the 18 holes on day one, and right now is only one stroke out of 5th place and two out of fourth place. In total, 14 class 1A golfers shot under 90 on day one of the competition.
In class 3A, Algona’s Abby Brooks is tied for 21st place, as Brooks shot an 86 over the 18 holes on day one at the Pheasant Ridge golf course in Cedar Falls. Four golfers are tied for 17th at 85, one stroke ahead of Brooks, while she sits 7 strokes outside of the top 10 headed to day two.
