Traffic Stop Near West Bend Ends in Drug Charges

–A traffic stop near West Bend early Friday morning ended with a pair of area residents facing multiple drug charges.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, a Deputy conducted the stop along County Road P20 near the intersection with 150th Street, about 3 miles northeast of West Bend, around 3:20 AM Friday. While conducting an investigation, the Deputy requested a K9 patrol to respond to the scene.

Upon arrival, Deputies and K9 Thor conducted a search of the vehicle, where they found drugs and drug paraphernalia. Deputies then arrested 50-year-old Bryan Jefferey Hudson and 62-year-old Sylvia Jane Loken, both of Whittemore. They are charged with:

–Possession of a Controlled Substance—Methamphetamine

–Controlled Substance Violation—Drug Trafficking (Class B Felony)

–Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp (Class D Felony)

–Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Both Hudson and Loken were booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Online court records show both defendants are scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Kossuth County District Court on August 26th.
