–After passing a budget amendment last week that restored funding to libraries across Kossuth County, the Board of Supervisors received an update this week on how many people the libraries are serving. Algona Public Library Director Lori Walton spoke to the board on behalf of the Kossuth County Library Association and discussed the foot traffic at her facility since July.

Walton also provided numbers on how often people come in to use one of their computers.

Last week’s budget amendment restored the funding for the county’s libraries to the levels of the previous fiscal year. The funding will be split amongst the county’s libraries, and will allow many of the rural facilities to resume regular hours and activities.
