–Alex Manske set a school record by throwing 5 TD passes in one game, all of which came in the 1st half as Algona built a 46-6 lead and went on to defeat Charles City 53-25 in their district opener. Manske connected with 4 different receivers on those 5 TD passes, and Tate Garman added a 23-yard INT return for a score in the first half. Algona (5-0, 1-0) will host Clear Lake Friday night.
Bishop Garrigan 17 (Forfeit)
Rockford 0
–Bishop Garrigan was given a 17-0 win Friday as Rockford forfeited their scheduled game at Conway Field due to low numbers. The Bears are now 5-0 on the season, 4-0 in the district. Bishop Garrigan will travel to Siouxland Christian on Friday.
West Bend-Mallard 51
Harris-Lake Park 12
–Austin Schmidt ran for 202 yards and 4 TD’s, while also throwing for 110 yards and another score as West Bend-Mallard beat Harris-Lake Park 51-12. The Wolverines improve to 2-3 overall, 1-2 in the district. They will play host to North Iowa on Friday.
