–Local Verizon cell phone customers have experienced service interruptions in the last week after a communications fiber was accidentally cut. Kossuth County Information Technology Director Derek Olson discussed the situation with the Board of Supervisors during their meeting on Tuesday.
Olson says Lumen had at least 7 crews in the area trying to restore service, which they were able to do on Friday. Olson says the problems then resurfaced this week.
The service outages impacted just over 4,000 area Verizon cell phone customers.
