–An Ottosen church is hosting an event Tuesday night where they will give away 150 turkeys just in time for Thanksgiving. Pastor Micah Mitchell from the Lighthouse Church spoke with KLGA News about the event, which came together after he presented an idea to his congregation, and a local farmer donated some seed money to get them off and running.
Mitchell says the event has turned into more than just providing a turkey for some area residents.
Mitchell says it’s nice to see the entire area coming together to help out this time of year.
The turkeys will be given out Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM at the Lighthouse Church in Ottosen. Mitchell says it will be a drive through event, with signs telling participants where to go, and turkeys will be handed out free of charge on a first come, first served basis.
