–A Wesley woman was cited following a one-vehicle accident along US Highway 18 earlier this month.
According to a report released this week by the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Sylvia Serrano-Real was traveling westbound on HWY 18 in a 2009 Dodge Journey around 9AM on February 9th. The accident report states that Serrano-Real lost control of her vehicle and veered left, crossing the centerline and entering the south ditch.
The vehicle continued to travel through the ditch before coming to a stop at the railroad tracks. Serrano-Real did not report any injuries, as she was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $3,000. Railroad officials were contacted to check the tracks for any possible damage.
