–An Algona woman is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in rural Kossuth County late last week.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 35-year-old Yaime Guerra Barban after stopping her vehicle in the rural Corwith area around 11 PM on Friday, May 29th.
A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court states that Guerra Barban failed to stop while Deputies were attempting to conduct a traffic stop. The complaint goes on to say that Deputies had lights and sirens activated, but Guerra Barban continued to drive for 12 miles before she was boxed in by a pair of patrol vehicles.
Guerra Barban was arrested on charges of Eluding, a serious misdemeanor, as well as failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. She was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance.
Court records indicate that Guerra Barban is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on June 19th.
