–A Hancock County man has been sentenced to six months in Federal prison this week after pleading guilty to gun charges back in April.
According to the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa, 67-year-old Larry Wayne Robbins of Goodell was sentenced Thursday at the US District Courthouse in Sioux City. Robbins pleaded guilty to one count of Possession of a Firearm by an Unlawful Drug User after being charged back in October of last year.
Court documents show that Robbins admitted to waving a gun at a neighbor in Hancock County while that individual was mowing a ditch nearly 300 yards from Robbins’ home. Law Enforcement later executed a search warrant at Robbins’ home and found guns, ammunition and marijuana.
Robbins will receive credit for 46 days served in the Hancock County Jail to count against his 6-month prison term. He will remain on supervision of United States Probation officers until he can self-surrender to a federal prison.
